The UIC College of Pharmacy, Departments of Pharmacy Practice and Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Services seek a Clinical Faculty (Open Rank)/Clinical Pharmacist to join our team.

 

Clinical Faculty responsibilities include the provision of didactic lectures at various Health Science Colleges and serving as a preceptor for student pharmacists, and PGY1 and PGY2 residents. Scholarly activities, including presentations and publications, are an expectation as well. 

Clinical Pharmacist responsibilities include providing comprehensive medication management to patients seen at the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System Gastroenterology and Hepatology clinics including inflammatory bowel disease, kidney transplant and post-liver transplant.  Responsibilities also include establishing patient-pharmacist relationships; creating, recommending and implementing comprehensive individualized evidence-based therapeutic plans; nurse, physician, and pharmacy staff development; coordinating and conducting quality initiative and research projects; and developing collaborative treatment protocols.

Candidates must be a graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy PharmD program and have completed an ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy residency and PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant residency. Candidates with a PGY2 in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy will also be considered if they have experience with solid organ transplant patients. Candidates must possess knowledge and skills such that they qualify for a non-tenured faculty position with the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the UIC College of Pharmacy.  Level is commensurate with experience.  Candidates must be licensed or eligible for Illinois licensure as a professional pharmacist prior to start date. Board Certification and bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
