The Department of Anthropology at the University of Illinois at Chicago invites applicants for a full-time, one-year position as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Biomedical Anthropology (renewable for a total of three years), beginning August 16, 2018. Candidates are expected to teach four courses a year, contribute to the research and teaching mission of the department, and advise graduate and undergraduate students.

The ideal candidate will hold a doctorate in Anthropology. Well-qualified candidates will be considered if completion of PhD degree requirements is imminent. The Department is interested in candidates who work on structural and sociocultural factors contributing to variation and/or disparities in morbidity and mortality. Theoretical and methodological perspectives on global health include, but are not limited to, developmental origins of health and disease (DOHaD), big data, and –omics (e.g. genomics, epigenomics, microbiomics, etc.).
