Department Head, Women, Children, and Family Health Science
The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Nursing, one of the top nursing schools in the country and 7th nationally for NIH funding for nursing, is dedicated to a rich, innovative, and diverse collaborative culture to advance global nursing leadership. The UIC College of Nursing spans five sites: Chicago, Peoria, Quad Cities, Rockford, and Urbana. Academic programs include BSN, RN-BSN, Graduate Entry program, MS, DNP and PhD. Specialty programs in the Women, Children, and Family Health Science (WCFHS) department include Nurse Practitioner (PNP, WHNP, NNP), Nurse Midwifery, and Clinical Nurse Specialist (Pediatric, Perinatal).
We invite doctorally prepared individuals to apply for the position The Department Head is responsible for promoting faculty excellence in research, teaching, and clinical practice; promoting outstanding student achievement; and overall operations of the department. The Department Head is a key member of the Dean’s leadership team and will provide strategic insight and assist the Dean in setting institutional goals.
Eligible candidates will be licensed (or be eligible for licensure) as a registered nurse in Illinois and doctorally prepared with a track record of nursing scholarship. Administrative experience and professor rank (or eligible for promotion to professor) preferred.
