Nominations and applications are now being sought for a dynamic and innovative individual to be the Executive Director of the Urban Health Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
Develop and execute a collaborative leadership model with college Deans and the UHP Management Team recognizing the independence of participating colleges while fostering the mission of the Program and the strategic goals of the campus.
With the Vice Provost for Planning and Programs, establish , monitor and evaluate the success of the Program's goals and objectives.
Recommend, evaluate and assess impact of academic policies and procedures for successful completion of current and future UHP students.
Actively engage federal, state, local officials in public policy and civic discourse on the future of Health Science careers and opportunities for underrepresented students.
Create opportunities for students to network in the Health Science Colleges, healthcare professionals in the community, faculty and administrators as the students consider and prepare for a health profession.
Support and mentor underrepresented students enrolled in UIC's undergraduate colleges and its health science colleges in order to lead to careers in health care and medical research.
Provide administrative and strategic support to the UHP Community Advisory Council.
Develop and maintain longitudinal data and reports on UHP student enrollment and outcomes.
Provide leadership in the development of a UHP student tracking system.
Plan, assign and review work of staff to ensure that a qualified staff exists to meet department objectives.
