This senior-level position involves project management of a statewide behavioral health workforce development center at the University of Illinois Chicago.  The center will work closely with behavioral health providers and community members to identify behavioral workforce training needs and coordinate projects to meet those needs.

Tasks will include convening workgroups, workgroup and focus group facilitation, collaborative goal setting, data collection and management, training coordination, and report writing. The position will directly supervise initiative coordinators, collaborate with faculty in different areas of expertise, assist with hiring, and assist with data analysis and outcome reports. The position will work closely with the primary behavioral health workforce center located at Southern Illinois University to coordinate tasks and workgroups across areas.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate workgroups and collect data on needs and potential training areas.
  • Collaborate with directors and faculty collaborators to develop objectives and design of projects and proposals to address needs of behavioral health workforce in Illinois.
  • Contribute material, prepare results, and assist in the writing of findings for proposals, presentations, and other documents.
  • Guide, train, and advise lower-level staff on methods and procedures.

This is a non-tenured, visiting academic professional position and the salary for the 100% appointment will be based on prior experience. This fulltime position will be entitled to all University benefits applicable to this position.

This position requires a master’s degree with course work specifically focused on project management (e.g., macrolevel social work or public policy, public health, project management); and four or more years of post-graduate experience in a similar research or project management position at a university, research center, or social service agency. 

Previous professional experience with staff supervision and working in social services is required. 

Experience working with community mental health agencies in some capacity, particularly those supporting underserved individuals and/or communities, is highly preferred. 

Familiarity with policies and guidelines specific to behavioral health services as well as Medicaid in Illinois is also preferred.
