Plans the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization. Responsible for the management and operations of the MST Program including: developing structure of the program, daily administration of the program and unit, grant preparation and monitoring, admissions and recruitment, along with financials and budgeting

• Develops new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the program.

• Develops and implements long-term goals and objectives to achieve successful outcomes of the program.

• Creates and develops recruitment plans to attract highly qualified diverse students to the program, including participation at schools and recruitment at conferences/fairs.

• Directs admissions and recruitment for the program, including: preliminary review and screening of applications to ultimately be presented to the Committee for their review and decisions.

• Prepares candidate synopses for each candidate to be presented for review and consideration for admission to the program by the Committee.

• Oversees related communications with students, applicants and prospective applicants.

• Ensures program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization and that activities are in compliance with all legislation and professional standards.

• Establishes best practices and techniques for students to succeed at each level of the program and to assist in their transition between levels

• Creates and maintains databases needed for NIH reporting and grant continuation, preparing related data, reports and analysis.

• Resolves related issues that arise from prospective and current applicants to the program.

• Prepares renewal applications and related reports for the ASTP T-32 Grant from the NIH.

• Develops the budget for the grant, handles related financial analysis and reconciliations, oversees expenses from the grant regarding student tuition and eligible fees, prepares related reports, updates and renewals.

• Manages project funds according to established accounting policies and principles.

• Oversees student position appointments, handling compensation, records and related expenses.

• Ensures required forms and documents for applicants, students and the College are properly completed and processed.

• Maintains the program’s website and other communication materials.

• Assists with other duties as assigned

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or a related discipline. Master’s Degree preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of related experience in an academic setting of higher education.

• Requires excellent communication, organization and presentation skills, computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and other related software.

• Good analytical skills.

• Prior supervisory/managerial experience
