INTERNAL SEARCH

The UIC School of Public Health (SPH) invites applications for an Associate Dean for Community Engagement (ADCE) from faculty throughout UIC. This position designs, implements, and evaluates the SPH’s community engagement agenda and serves as the primary liaison for SPH with community partners, working to facilitate strategic and sustainable partnerships toward the improvement of health and well-being in communities. 

  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a community engagement agenda for UIC-SPH's program, Community Engagement for Health Equity and Action (CEHEA)
  • Establish and lead the CEHEA Steering Committee
  • Lead proposal writing with faculty, staff, and community partners for primary and practice-based research including knowledge producing, translation, and dissemination research
  • Facilitate community-based teaching
  • Develop, lead and supervise implementation of a communication plan within and outside SPH
  • Implement evaluation and performance monitoring to support the SPH strategic plan
  • Maintain an active, externally funded community-engagement research portfolio
  • Meet monthly with the Senior Associate Dean and participate in monthly Associate Dean meetings

Requires a terminal doctoral degree and experience in community based participatory research, scholarly public health practice or community engaged teaching. Must hold a corresponding faculty appointment of at least 50% time at UIC.

This appointment will cover 25% of a 9-month salary, a $10,000 administrative stipend, and one month of summer salary.
