Job Summary:

UIC is seeking a Marketing Associate (Marketing Account Manager) to join the Creative and Digital Services team.

The Marketing Associate (Marketing Account Manager) is responsible for developing and managing customer marketing projects from inception through the design and/or print process. Works with Student Affairs units, as well as other university departments, to identify marketing needs, develop plans, and work with appropriate units to manage projects through to completion.

With over 600 staff members and 1,100 student employees, Student Affairs is comprised of 25 departments responsible for providing programs, services, and facilities that support student engagement, learning, and success.  Student Affairs recently embarked on a new plan driving the organization called Ignite 2025: The plan for student life at UIC.  The vision is to provide the premiere urban university student experience.

UIC Creative & Digital Services:

UIC Creative & Digital Services (CDS) operates as a full-service agency offering creative services and marketing development strategies to elevate our clients' projects. CDS provides graphic design, printing services, photography and video production services, marketing development, and social media support. Planning an event?  CDS will design and print the materials you need, digitally capture your event, and provide images for posting on social media.

  • Manage and make recommendations to department requests related to marketing projects and initiatives. Anticipate and manage customer needs that may lead to project generation. Identify and manage vendor and internal resource relationships in the execution of projects and campaigns.
  • Define, execute, and monitor the development of marketing materials including all aspects from design to production for video, print, social media, and web products.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and tracking of marketing strategies and branding initiatives.
  • Assist with maintenance and development of customer base. Support departmental initiatives related to customer growth. Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Creative & Digital Services creative and print services capabilities. Stay abreast of marketing industry and design trends as well as project management and direct customer interface support.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
  2. One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.


Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year (12 months) to three (3) years (36 months) of professional experience working in the advertising, promotions, public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field.
