This position leads the planning, implementation, deployment, and analysis of the Student Evaluation of Teaching system for UIC. Works closely with the external vendor, faculty, staff, administrators, and students in the management of the evaluation process. Coordinates and disseminates faculty policies and professional development resources related to teaching and learning, faculty engagement, and internal awards, and manages any programming related to those policies and activities. Salary range is from $50,000 - $55,000 commensurate with experience

  • Manages the UIC Student Evaluation of Teaching program. This includes importing, scheduling, and verifying faculty and course information in the online course evaluation system. Responsible for all data entry, cross-checking, departmental query creation and collection via Excel, project timelines, survey creation and deployment via Class Climate.
  • Prepares and sends evaluation reports from the student evaluation system to faculty and units. Processes special report requests from departments. Coordinates with the Associate Director, UIC Technology Services and the external vendor for the reporting of the teaching evaluation results on the campus Website; communicates and problem-solves with the external vendor, UI System IT team, and UIC Technology Services staff when problems arise, or modifications are needed.
  • Coordinates and disseminates faculty policies and professional development resources related to teaching and learning, faculty engagement and faculty awards on the web and through other in-person, written, and/or digital communication strategies; manages internal faculty award application processes (Teaching Recognition Program); establishes timeline, nomination protocols, and committee review and approvals; provides reports as requested by the Vice Provost and Associate Director.
  • Coordinates, tracks, follows up with, and educates (via visits to the colleges with the VPFA), college and departmental points of contact for participation in the UIC Student Evaluation of Teaching Program.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. 

 

Minimum Quailfications:

 
  1. Bachelor degree in an educational or related field with a minimum of two courses in statistics (MUST upload transcripts)
  2. Two (2) years (24 months) of educational and/or other research experience
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of the concepts and methodology used in the student evaluation of teaching including designing and administering the faculty evaluation processes and systems in support of college-wide assessment and campus promotion and tenure activities.
