To maintain our commitment to our veteran and military connected students at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the GA will assist Student Veterans Affairs in certifying enrollments, offering benefit education and support and developing and promoting programs.  A mandatory 10-hour Department of Veterans Affairs training and certification will be required if selected to fill this role.

  • Certify enrollments for GI Bill Beneficiaries in VA-Once
  • Assist with reporting updates/changes/reductions to the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Maintain digital documentation and file management in Maxient
  • Support veteran and military connected students with their transition to UIC
  • Function as a back-up supervisor to the Cisar Student Veterans Center Department of Veteran Affairs Work Study Allowance team
  • Promote Department of Veterans Affairs resources to veteran and military connected students
  • Assist with the coordination of military specific events and programs  
  • Graduate student in Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Management Information Systems, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Work, Education, and Counseling preferred
  • Knowledge of military culture, community, and benefits
  • Positive communication skills
  • Computer Savvy
  • Program Development

This is a 50% time position.  This position will start on July 1, 2022 and continue through the end of the fall semester.  Provided performance expectations are met, the position may be renewed in the spring semester.
