The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria is seeking a Medical Assistant (Certified/Credentialed) for the Child Development/Peds Psychiatry department.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, union position (Monday – Friday) located in Peoria, IL (160 miles southwest of Chicago).

The Medical Assistant (Credentialed/Certified) is responsible for assisting in the daily activities of the clinic operation, performing a variety of clinical and clerical tasks in an outpatient clinical setting. Primary responsibilities include taking vital signs, putting patients in rooms, reviewing Electronic Health Record (EHR) to ensure completeness of medical record and assisting the provider or nurse with treatments.

CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER

  1. High school graduation or equivalent
  2. Possession of a current/valid medical assistant certification by an approved certifying board as defined by the employing institution
