This position is responsible for the administration of acupuncture to study participants according to specific study protocols.

(Essential Duties)

Administration of the study acupuncture intervention
• Conduct and coordinate acupuncture sessions for all study participants randomized to receive acupuncture.
• Maintain the safety of all study participants including adherence to clean needle technique.
• Adhere to UIC BioRAFT COVID prevention protocol for research.
• Report adverse events to the research specialist or acupuncture study investigator immediately.
• Maintain participant confidentiality during all interactions.
• Train in acupuncture study processes and protocols.
• Adhere to fidelity of the acupuncture study protocols and will retrain immediately if fidelity is not maintained.
• Complete all UIC CITI and HIPAA required trainings.
Communications
• Communicate to Research Specialist and Multiple Principal Investigators if untoward or access events occur during or after an acupuncture session.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc) in the State of Illinois.

A minimum of 3 years-experience as a practicing acupuncturist.

Certification in Acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
