Clinical Assistant Professor (Non-Tenure)

The Department of Orthodontics in the College of Dentistry at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, 12-month, non-tenure track position as a Clinical Assistant Professor. Responsibilities will include preclinical and clinical instruction in all aspects of Orthodontics, supporting clinic operations, instruct postgraduate students and participate in clinic administration and care of patients.

1. Teach in advance program level clinical courses
2. Assist with course development and evaluation criteria
3. Teach in a variety of seminars and conferences in the department
4. Provide creative leadership in further development of graduate program
5. Advise and direct graduate students
6. Clinical responsibilities primarily in the Post-Graduate Clinic
7. Develop an independent research program
8. Collaborate with faculty to develop interdisciplinary research
9. Research and publication
10. Participate in collegiate faculty meetings as well as departmental staff meetings, and other divisional meetings and departmental conferences on a regular basis,
11. Participate in teaching
12. Participate in continuing education programs in the College and at other locations as deemed appropriate.
13. Participate in departmental and college committees
14. Participate in public service activities

Candidate must have an accredited DDS/DMD or foreign equivalent, have completed an accredited specialty program in Orthodontics in the United States or Canada, be Board eligible in the orthodontic specialty, and should be eligible to obtain faculty licensure in Illinois. Preferred abilities include, previous university-level teaching experience, ability to mentor students, experience in evidence-based dentistry and curriculum development.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to interdisciplinary care and willingness to engage other academic departments. Salary is commensurate with experience and scholarly record.
