Clinical Assistant Professor, Full-time, 9-month Position

Description:

This non-tenure track faculty position has primary teaching responsibilities in the Rehabilitation Sciences undergraduate program. The ideal candidate has teaching experience at the undergraduate level and is able to teach in the field of rehabilitation sciences in an interdisciplinary health science college in a large urban research university. The candidate must have excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to diversity, equity, access and inclusion and student-centeredness is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate coursework at a full load for UIC’s Rehabilitation Sciences degree
  • Participate in course development, assessment, and evaluation efforts
  • Collaborate with program team to develop, implement, and assess ongoing student success and curriculum initiatives
  • Attend student-related professional development and community-building events at all levels of campus life
  • Participate in committees and service activities as assigned in the program and at the college level
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience including course development and mentoring/advising students at the college level
  • Master’s degree in a rehabilitation-related field
  • Commitment to diversity, quality, integrity, and student-centeredness as evidenced by professional, scholarly, and/or service experience
  • Demonstrated practice, research and/or service experience in a Rehabilitation-related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Content expertise in clinical research, measurement and assessment, and/or evidence-based practice
  • Range of professional experiences across differing settings including within geriatrics, community based practice, assistive technology, public health, or others
  • History of community engagement/service with diverse and underserved populations
  • Experience with student success and/or curriculum development initiatives
  • Expertise in online and/or hybrid teaching models
  • Terminal degree in a rehabilitation-related field

This is a full-time, academic nine-month appointment. For fullest consideration, please apply by June 15, 2022. The search will close on June 27, 2022.
