The University of Illinois at Chicago, Facilities Management is seeking to fill several Building Service Supervisor positions. The Building Service Supervisor assists with Administrative tasks that include staffing allocations, assigned work assignments, preparing biweekly payroll, conducting performance evaluations of staff quality report, visitations to the patients and tasks as assigned by the Environmental Services Director. Building Service Supervisors must Implement departmental policies and procedures with effective resource utilization to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and internal policies and standards.

- Daily Activities: The Building Service Supervisor assigns the Building Service Workers  to specific work areas, prepares the daily work schedule for all Building Service Workers under his/her supervision detailing the specific tasks to be performed, and checks on workers to ensure that they are following the proper procedures in performing tasks. Supervisor interviews patients and their families as well as works closely with nursing to assure quality care of the environment of care and all areas of the hospital.

- Time cards: Building Service Supervisor is responsible for approving the time cards of all personnel under his/her supervision. The correct job codes must be entered to ensure that the proper accounts are charged. The timecards must also reflect the accurate usage of employees' time worked and benefits used.

- Discipline: Building Service Supervisor Follows University guidelines in applying
disciplinary action. He/she must represent the department when necessary in any
disciplinary or grievance that is involved.

- Coordination: • Building Service Supervisor acts as liaison to the departments and
areas to assure expedient responses to patient and customers concerns. • Building Service Supervisor attends meetings with other departmental Supervisors to monitor building service activities in correlation with the use of building services. He/she must inform employees of any changes that affect their work schedules.

- Building Service Supervisor perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Acceptable Qualfications Required:

1.High school graduation or equivalent
2. Three years (36 months) of experience in building service operations or related work.
3. Two years (24 months) in building custodial supervisory capacity
