The Division of Academic Internal Medicine and Geriatrics in the Department of Medicine requires a Research Specialist to perform research functions for NIH funded studies within the Vitoux Program on Aging and Prevention. The position will be required to conduct research according to study protocols that investigate lifestyle and behavioral health interventions for adults with chronic diseases.

Under direction of the Principal Investigator and Senior Research Specialist, the primary duties will include the development and conduct of project-specific research protocols and procedures, complex data collection, ongoing monitoring of project progress, and implementation of refined and/or new research approaches as needed. This role includes the development and implementation of processes and procedures for participant recruitment and retention, data collection processes as well as data acquisition and processing functions. Depending on the research project, this role can also involve training and implementation of behavioral lifestyle intervention protocols. This position will also be responsible to evaluate and monitor the project’s processes and proposing and implementing changes as needed, based on findings.

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required. Master’s degree in social science preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years related research experience.
  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.
