Perform duties related to providing customer service in parking facilities and designated locations on the UIC Campus. Providing customer assistance, enforcing parking rules and regulations, and directing traffic, are functions of the position.

25% Responsible for acting as a resource of information for visitors and patients of the hospital and clinics. This requires responding to routine inquiries related to issues of transportation, parking locations and policies, services available, directions, and access to the facility. The focus of this task is to develop and maintain a strong working relationship with visitors and patients.

25% Monitor traffic in front of the Hospital and Clinics, directing vehicles to their appropriate locations. This may require working closely with Valet Services, Parking Enforcement, and medical center staff to assure appropriate vehicular flow and that all vehicles are parked legally.

10% Issue limited parking permits for patients and visitors at the medical facilities consistent with Parking Services instructions.

10% Perform parking enforcement activities, which include the issuance of citations to violators of University and City parking rules and regulations.

10% As requested, assist the physically challenged in exiting vehicles and entering facilities. Low 10% Report operational or safety hazards to a supervisor or appropriate personnel.

5% As directed, document activities performed or customer contacts by completing specified forms and reports. Low 3% As requested, act as customer service agents for University functions. 

2% Perform other duties as assigned.

This information will be treated with due confidentiality while recognizing the University’s strong interest in protecting its patients, customers, visitors, and their property.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Possession of a valid and current State of Illinois Driver’s License.

No record of conviction of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude.

Good English verbal communication skills. Skill in writing legibly. Mechanical aptitude.
