The position’s primary purpose is to provide enforcement support to Campus Parking Services.

High 30% Provide motorist assistance service including fuel assistance, jumpstarts, lockouts, and service for to help motorists who cannot find their vehicles or who need escorts to their vehicles. All documentation related to the motorist assistance program must be organized and maintained.

High 25% As directed, patrol Parking lots and structures, checking vehicles for proper parking assignments and compliance with Campus Parking rules and regulations. As necessary, write citations when violations are observed.

Low 5% Responsible for various data entry and retrieval tasks that supports Parking Services Operations. This responsibility includes license plate lookups, current status of Parking users and similar information.

Low 5% Perform tasks related to answering telephones, data entry and retrieval tasks, and dispatching information to appropriate parties. The responsibility will provide information about citations issued, enforcement rules, parking status of users, inquiries for directions/transportation/and motorist assistance. All incoming calls and other relevant information dispatched must be documented.

Low 5% Responsible for authorizing short term parking in areas that are designated “No Parking.”

Low 5% Responsible for notifying immediate supervisor of major or recurring parking problems.

Low 5% Assist with traffic control during special events or on occasion of heavy traffic.

Low 5% Assist with meter collections, as requested. 

Low 5% Responsible for maintaining radio, other communications equipment, and vehicles.

Low 5% Document patrol activities which are suspicious in nature, or pose a threat to safety. Situations which pose danger should be reported to the designated supervisor immediately.

Low 5% Perform other duties as assigned.

It is the employee’s responsibility to inform supervision immediately of any traffic or moving violations which they receive either on- or off-duty. This information will be treated with due confidentiality while recognizing the University’s strong interest in protecting its patients, customers, visitors, and their property.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications Required:

  1. High school graduation or equivalent.
  2. Six (6) months of customer service experience or experience in parking enforcement and/or motorist assistance/service activities.
  3. Possession of a valid and current State of Illinois driver's license. (Upload a copy of IL Driver's License)
  4. No record of conviction of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude.
