The Office of Creative and Digital Services is seeking to hire a full time Marketing Associate (Assistant Director of Marketing).

The Marketing Associate (Assistant Director of Marketing) is responsible for initiating, developing, and implementing strategic marketing plans; develop and execute effective print, digital, and social media campaigns for Student Affairs and other university departments; support and develop branding initiatives; conduct marketing data analysis and research; and interface with university media and media-related departments.

Student Affairs at UIC:

UIC Creative & Digital Services (CDS) operates as a full-service agency offering creative services and marketing development strategies to elevate our clients' projects. CDS provides graphic design, printing services, photography and video production services, marketing development, and social media support.   • Develops and implements marketing and communications plans for Student Affairs and other university departments. Supports and manages department and program communications efforts through digital platforms, including social media. Anticipates and manages customer needs that may lead to project generation.
  • Develops and provides direction to departments regarding strategic social media plans. Directs management of all social media-related content for consistency across platforms. Analyzes and creates reports on social media, as well as digital ad performance, and makes recommendations. Manages junior and student staff.
  • Conducts periodic marketing research. Participates in development, implementation, and tracking of marketing strategy and branding initiatives. Utilizes marketing data to assist with campaign and promotional direction.
  • Responsible for continued knowledge gathering on marketing, digital and social media, and related industries, as well as project management and direct customer interface support.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
  2. One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.

Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Three (3) years (36 months) to five (5) years (60 months) of professional experience working in the marketing, advertising, promotions, public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field.
