The Section of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a full-time Faculty Open Rank (NICU Hospitalist). Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience.

Primary responsibility in inpatient care services with opportunity for clinical teaching of medical students and residents. The Section of Neonatology covers a 46 bed Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a Step-Down Special Care Nursery (SCN) in the Children’s Hospital University of Illinois (CHUI) within the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System. This is a busy medical/surgical unit with multiple pediatric sub-specialties available. This position includes patient care services during days, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.

The Department of Pediatrics is dedicated to providing comprehensive family-centered health care to all children, multi-level professional education to students, physicians and allied health care workers in all aspects of pediatrics, and a voice of advocacy for children of the state of Illinois.

The University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UI Health) provides comprehensive care, education, and research to train health care leaders and foster healthy communities in Illinois and beyond.

  • M.D., D.O. or equivalent terminal medical degree
  • Unrestricted Illinois license to practice medicine or Illinois license eligible
  • Board-Certified/Board-Eligible in General Pediatrics.
