Responsible for supervising parking enforcement operations which includes but not limited to motorist assistance, dispatch services, and other customer relations functions. 

20% (High Competency) Responsible for supervising parking employees.

  1. Assist in training and instruction support staff and student employees in parking operations and procedures.
  2. Inspect the progress and completion of work assignments given to employees.
  3. Evaluate and rate employees with respect to attendance, punctuality, performance and work attitude.  
  4. Schedule shifts, vacations and days off, ensuring that all stations are staffed as required.
  5. Review and tabulate time worked documents for employees on your shift.
  6. Interview and recommend appointment of potential status and student employees.
  7. Provide for the relief of parking cashiers, PSA’s and student attendants during break and lunch periods.

10% (Intermediate Competency) Make daily periodic tours of parking facilities to check that vehicles are parked appropriately and that safety, security, and control procedures are being followed.

10% (Intermediate Competency) Assist cashiers, PSA’s or student attendants when they may be confronted by angry or hostile parking patrons. Representing Campus Parking Services in a courteous, businesslike manner.

10% (Intermediate Competency) Respond to and assist in resolving emergency situations such as power failures, vehicle accidents in lots, injury to customers, etc.

10% (Intermediate Competency) Based on thorough knowledge of parking operations, make recommendations for revisions in parking regulations, and/or enforcement procedures.

10% (Intermediate Competency) Assist motorists who need motorist assistance services.

5% (Low Competency) Supervise the regulation of traffic into and out of parking facilities during special events and unforeseen situations such as unscheduled relocations, equipment malfunction or traffic congestion.

5% (Low Competency) Prepare daily reports concerning cash, car counts, escort activities, parking lot conditions.

5% (Low Competency) Assist in planning and implementing motorist assistance program.

5% (Low Competency) Initiate the procedure for, and coordinate if necessary, towing of vehicles as required by Parking Rules and Regulations of parking policies.

5% (Low Competency) Responsible for parking vehicle, radios, pagers, traffic control equipment, and any other department issued equipment.

5% (Low Competency) Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications Required:

  1. High school graduation or equivalent.
  2. Six (6) months of customer service experience or experience in parking enforcement and/or motorist assistance/service activities.
  3. Two (2) years (24 months) of experience performing parking enforcement and/or motorist assistance/service activities, one (1) year (12 months) of which was comparable to the Parking Services Agent II level.
  4. Possession of a valid and current State of Illinois driver’s license. (Must upload a copy of your Driver's License)
  5. No record of conviction of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude.
