Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism (Job ID #157328)
College of Medicine / Department of Medicine
Postdoc Res Assoc
Chicago
02/15/2022

NIH-T32 funded Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions are available in the University of Illinois at Chicago Diabetes Research Training Program (UICDRTP), effective July 1, 2022.  With over 25 faculty mentors, the UICDRTP provides training in basic/mechanistic, translational, clinical, behavioral, and/or community-based research targeting diabetes in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment that values diversity.

The UICDRTP supports up to 3 years of post-doctoral training for NIH-eligible (US citizen or permanent resident) post-doctoral fellows (M.D., Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent), including stipends and support for educational and training-related expenses. In addition to conducting closely mentored research, fellows participate in research seminars, journal clubs and work-in-progress meetings, and, when appropriate, complete graduate-level courses pertinent to their research and career goals, including degree conferring programs (e.g., MS in Clinical and Translational Science, Health Informatics, etc.).

Trainees should be no more than 5 years past completion of their Ph.D. or terminal degree. The UICDRTP Program will prioritize candidates seeking their first postdoctoral experience and applications from underrepresented minorities. A second postdoctoral training experience may be considered for outstanding candidates changing their focus to diabetes research.

For additional information and online application, see https://go.uic.edu/UICDRTP. For questions, contact Pamela Terrell, Program Coordinator (terrell@uic.edu). For full consideration, please apply by February 15, 2022.
