The University of Illinois at Chicago, Department of Chemistry seeks an established faculty member with an internationally recognized research program, a track record of external funding, and the vision and leadership to fill the newly founded Endowed Chair in Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery at the rank of tenured Associate or Full Professor. Candidates are sought to support our growing academic program by establishing and leading a High Throughput Experimentation laboratory to enhance the development of new methods for novel compound synthesis with diverse biological applications and complement our existing research strengths.

Located in the heart of Chicago, the Department of Chemistry of the University of Illinois at Chicago is an internationally recognized Tier 1 research institution by the Carnegie Foundation. The department is comprised of over 30 research active faculty members who mentor more than 150 graduate students in all areas of chemistry and interdisciplinary research.

Conduct a full and active program of rigorous and innovative research in chemical biology and drug discovery. Contribute to teaching graduate and undergraduate students. Train and guide students in research. Provide service to the university. Direct the new high-throughput experimentation laboratory. 

Ph.D. in chemistry or related field, and teaching/research experience to qualify for a tenured faculty position.
