Shield IL seeks Lab Processors to, under the direct supervision from the designated supervisor, assist with duties in the COVID-19 molecular testing section at the Laboratory as part of the COVID-19 initiative called SHIELD Illinois. These include cleaning and disinfecting laboratory spaces and equipment, unpacking supplies, removing packaging and waste from the laboratory and uphold a safe work environment by wearing the required PPE.  

  • Processing and proper handling of infectious substances, including checking in samples and proper identification of samples         
  • Assist maintaining stock of laboratory supplies
  • Removal of laboratory waste and packaging for safe disposal
  • Cleaning and disinfecting of laboratory spaces and equipment
  • Unpacking laboratory supplies and removing supply boxes from laboratory
  • Provide proper documentation for the lab supervisor to review

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

  1. possession of qualifications established for the specific program for which the candidate is applying

 

Required: Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

 

Pay rate: $18

Schedule: flexible, up to 40 hrs/wk 

Locations: Metro Chicago/Rockford/Central IL/Springfield/Champaign Areas
