Job Summary:

According to the overall needs of the Project WISH clinical research site and under the direction of the Manager of Community Affairs, the Social Outreach Specialist will be charged with managing client social media profiles and executing the marketing strategy. The successful candidate will develop and maintain but not limited to blog, video feeds, trending social networking sites and resource centers. The candidate will be responsible for providing the customers with comprehensive analytics, data presentations, and resource management reports. This candidate will have a demonstrated history of working in a fast-paced environment while delivering multiple projects on schedule, on budget, and with very little to no errors.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Implement social media strategies to build brand awareness, generate inbound traffic and product create to foster recruitment for clinical research studies at Project WISH.
  • Creation of content which meets our customer standards.
  • Develop and deliver social media optimization SMO
  • Stay current with social media trends and best practices.
  • Research opportunities for new social media marketing platforms and select adapt current process to fit client needs.
  • Review and approve content on daily basis.
  • Creating and managing ads and monthly promotion.
  • Direct to resources while producing knowledge driven content.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Maintain required records, files, and forms in an organized manner and in accordance with UIC Policies
  • Participate in staff meetings, clinical meetings and complete necessary trainings
  • Follow universal safety precautions at all times
  • Other related duties as assigned

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience with a community-based organization working with those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health or related field of study
  • Minimum of 2 years working in the field of HIV/AIDS
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a community-based organization
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of community resource and local referrals for HIV/STI and additional appropriate client-centered referrals
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Regular and predictable attendance are required and must be able to work extended hours, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays according to the demands of the role
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word and Excel)
  • Demonstrated cultural competence in working with people of color and the LGBTQ community as well as experience and knowledge working with those living with and affected by HIV/AIDS
