RN Duties

Notify those who have been identified as COVID-19 contacts.

Communicate quarantine or isolation requirements and answer questions related to currently accepted protocols.

Coordinate contact tracing efforts with functional team leaders and UHS staff.

Conduct interviews in a professional manner that reflects emotional and cultural awareness.

Collect and record accurate information into various database systems including Agility, Immuware, REDCaps, and shared electronic storage software.

Calls to positive employees to trace individuals they had contact with and determine exposure.

Interview traced contacts, assessing symptoms, and referring them for testing, if appropriate.

Provide contacts with information on isolation and quarantine procedures.

Assist as requested with maintaining ongoing virtual communication to monitor symptoms.

Facilitate health checks and testing, as well as referring contacts to available community resources.

File materials/documents in established filing system.

Retrieve data from computerized or hard copy records and files.

Creates, updates, and revises records or files that include confidential material.

Comply with all UI Health regulations, aimed at protecting personal information.

Provide reports to the team leader or UHS leaders in a timely manner.

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in clinical practice as a Registered Nurse required, preferably in an occupational health, adult medical surgical setting or emergency room setting.
• Licensed in the state of Illinois. Needs to hold current RN Licensure.
• Occupational Health Registered Nurse focus preferred, COHN-S preferred.
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain professional relationships with members of the health care team, patients and other University personnel.
• Contact Tracing certificate preferred

• Effective communication skills (oral and written) that facilitate relationships between healthcare providers including report writing and presentation
• Proactive in anticipating identifying and responding to risks.
• Intermediate computer skills with the ability to become proficient in the use of automated medical record with on-the-job training.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
• Ability to review and interpret clinical data and make judgements regarding appropriate internal follow-up

Ability to successfully complete training and apply contact tracing skills accurately and independently

Shift: 7:00am to 3:30pm
