The Division of Health Policy and Administration (HPA) at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) School of Public Health (SPH) seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position (open rank) in the area of Public Health Informatics.

We are searching for an accomplished scholar with research strengths in one or more of the following areas: public and population health information systems; development and evaluation of ehealth/mobile health applications for health promotion and disease prevention; public or population health data analytics (disease surveillance and outbreak detection algorithms, modeling of infectious diseases); big data, data science and predictive analytics; applications of artificial intelligence in public and population health; and, use of electronic health records/personal health records/population health records and health information exchanges data for policy and interventions evaluation.  

The successful candidate will be have the opportunity to play a leading role in further building and developing our teaching and research programs related to public health informatics in the Division of HPA and the public health informatics track of the School of Public Health’s Doctor of Public Health in Leadership (DrPH) Program, and to engage in the broader field of health informatics across the UIC campus. 

The successful candidate is expected to have a PhD in any of the following research areas: public/population health sciences, data sciences, computer sciences, statistics or applied mathematics, with an informatics focus.  A strong record of teaching, publications and experience with extramurally funded research grants along with leadership skills is expected commensurate with stage of career. 

Evaluation of applications will be ongoing until the application is closed on 4/20/21, but preference will be given to those received before March 15, 2021.
