The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP), Department of Pediatrics, is seeking multiple positions for Pediatric Critical Care physicians for positions as Assistant/Associate/Professor of Pediatrics to enhance a growing division.

The ideal candidate will have completed 3 years of pediatric residency and be BC/BE in Pediatrics and will hold or have applied for an Illinois physician’s license.

The position includes patient care services, teaching medical students and residents, and opportunities to pursue research. The position will provide clinical consultation services for critically ill patients hospitalized in the unit. The ideal candidatea will also provide consultation services for physicians and patients in the region with problems requiring critical care.

The Primary teaching hospital of UICOMP is the OSF Healthcare Children’s Hospitalof Illinois, a 136-bed facility that offers over 50 pediatric programs and services, including one of the largest pediatric surgery programs in Illinois. It is supported by a growing referral base of 140 CHOI Pediatric Sub-Specialists, 72 faculty members at
the University of Illinois College of Medicine-Peoria, over 68 OSF Medical Group practice locations in Illinois and over 800 physicians on staff at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. 

Malpractice insurance is provided by the University of Illinois system and an excellent benefit package is available including vacations, sick time, CME, health and life insurance and retirement plan.

The Department of Pediatrics, University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria is seeking pediatric critical care specialists to serve as full-time faculty members of the Division of Critical Care. The department is seeking multiple positions at the rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor or Professor. 

Responsibilities include:

Participate in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs of the Department. 

Provide clinical services for critically ill patients hospitalized in the critical care and intermedicate care unit. 

Provide consultation services for physicans and patients in the region requiring critical care services. 

Organize and conduct research programs in pediatric critical care medicine. 

Perform other duties of a University faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development and administration. 

MD/DO degree required

Eligible for licensure in Illinois

Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care

3 years of Pediatric Residency
