LECTURER – Dept. of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science at UIC

The Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science at UIC expects openings at full and/or part-time Lecturer positions available Fall 2020.  Each position is responsible for teaching general mathematics, computer programming and / or statistics courses, advising and assisting students, and supervising teaching assistants, as needed.  Qualifications include experience teaching mathematics, computer programming and / or statistics at the University or College level, and a Master’s Degree in mathematics or a related discipline.  Applicants should be qualified to teach a range of undergraduate courses in math, statistics, and computer science.  Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with and/or a commitment to innovative student centered teaching methods, such as active learning.  These appointments would be for a single semester or entire academic year, ranging from 33% to 100%; they are not tenure-track appointments.  Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.  UIC is strongly committed to achieving excellence through cultural diversity.  We strongly encourage applications from women, minorities, individuals with disabilities and covered veterans.  The University may conduct background checks on all job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent offer.
