The UIC College of Nursing invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Director of Development.  The Associate Director will work closely with the Assistant Dean for Advancement to qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual leadership and major gifts from prospective donors, alumni, and friends of the UIC College of Nursing.  S/he will be highly organized and proactive in building relationships as a front line fundraiser.  S/he will be a vibrant team player in the pursuit of increasing levels of philanthropy, alumni engagement, and visibility for the college.  S/he will work as a key collaborator in the College of Nursing and across UIC, in order to advance the college’s goals within the framework of IGNITE: The Campaign for UIC, a $750M comprehensive campaign.

• Manage a portfolio of leadership annual giving and major gift donors and prospects.
• Complete face-to-face visits with prospective and current donors annually; comprising approximately 60% of the incumbent's time.
• Track development activity and donor interaction by entering key interactions and strategies into the fundraising database.
• Coordinate with central Major Gifts, Gift Planning, Donor Relations, and Engagement and Participation teams to enhance interactions with prospects and donors and increase potential gifts.
• Collaborate with other units to provide alumni and development relevant content for newsletters, website, magazines and other publications
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of three years of professional experience in fundraising, non-profit management, sales, or other related field. Experience in an institution of higher learning is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications. Strong database skills.
