UI Health is seeking to hire up to ten (10) extra help physical therapists to work on the acute care team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic interdisciplinary team of therapists in a professionally stimulating, educationally oriented and patient focused practice setting.  Our therapy team serves a diverse patient population across all inpatient hospital settings including ICU, step-down, surgical, telemetry and observation units, and is part of the larger department of rehabilitation services at UIH.  
 
An entry-level professional degree and Illinois licensure are both required. Acute care experience required. The ideal candidates will also have a strong commitment to excellence in practice, self-directed learning style, and excellent communication skills.

Primary need is on weekends and holidays, but may have some additional opportunity for weekday and evening hours.  Minimum requirement is one weekend day per month with additional contribution around one summer holiday and one winter holiday for a minimum of 14 days per year.

  • Provide professional therapy services in accordance with the standards established by the professional association and other relevant regulatory requirements. Supervise Physical Therapist students.
  • Complete administrative and regulatory tasks required as an employee of the UI Health and for practice as a licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Illinois.  
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • (Alternative productivity expectations may be determined within this classification based on fluctuating needs of the department)
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation at time of employment (if not licensed at time of employment, passing score on examination for licensure is needed within two months)
