The Division of Health Policy and Administration at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health seeks to fill up to two tenure-track faculty positions (open rank) in the area of Public Health Informatics and Data Analytics. We are searching for an accomplished scholar with research strengths in one or more of the following areas: public and population health information systems; valuation, development and evaluation of ehealth/mobile health applications for health promotion and disease prevention; public or population health data analytics (disease surveillance and outbreak detection algorithms, modeling of infectious diseases); big data, data science and predictive analytics; evaluation of public health policy and interventions using administrative data; applications of artificial intelligence in public and population health; and, use of electronic health records/personal health records/population health records and health information exchanges data for policy and interventions evaluation.

The ideal candidate will be able to teach courses and conduct research in public health informatics and data analytics, as well as provide leadership for the unit’s public health informatics degree and certificate programs and provide service to the School of Public Health.

The successful candidate is expected to have a PhD in any of the following research areas (public/population health sciences, applied mathematics, health economics with health informatics minor, applied statistics, general systems modeling, software engineering). An MD with publication record in public/population health informatics will be considered. A strong record of teaching, publications and experience with extramurally funded research grants is expected commensurate with stage of career.
