The Department of Periodontics at University of Illinois at Chicago in the College of Dentistry is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Visiting Research Specialist. The research focus of the laboratory is oral wound healing and tissue regeneration. 

Duties include conducting experimental studies to investigate the effects of active ingredients in mouthwashes and toothpastes on oral wound healing using techniques of histology, cellular & molecular biology, and immunology. Both in vitro and in vivo oral wound healing models will be involved in these studies.

Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in science or related field required.  Master’s degree or equivalent in the areas of medical or biological science are preferred.  A minimum of 3 years related research experience. Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods. Proficient in specific lab research techniques.  Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. This person also must have excellent organizational and communication skills, and strong work ethics.
