The UIC Office of Admissions' Recruitment & Outreach unit is seeking candidates for the new Director of Campus Engagement position.

This position leads the area that is primarily responsible for campus-wide undergraduate visitor activities and experiences as well as the operations of the UIC Visitors Center. This includes the physical space, equipment, programming (both in person and virtual), and the scheduling, training and development of professional and student staff.

In addition, the unit will design, execute, and evaluate all campus visit programs and work to promote a positive and inclusive campus engagement experience, while considering customer service protocols, university policies and procedures, and coordinating with campus partners.

• Collaborate with the Associate Vice Provost, Recruitment and Admissions leadership, and college and AES partners to regularly review and update the university undergraduate recruitment plan.
• Assist in the development of the annual recruitment budget, responsibly steward University funds, reconcile expenses and reports.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive campus visitors and prospective student engagement plan for the Visitors Center that includes daily presentations, virtual engagement, group visits, student ambassadors, walk in visitors and prospective or admitted students.
• Coordinate with campus partners to develop, update and execute inclusive personalized campus visit experiences.
• Develop best practices for on campus and virtual visits; provide resources and support to the greater campus community to meet those best practices.
• Work collaboratively with the Recruitment team to continually develop and maintain in person and virtual recruitment presentations.
• Manage and coordinate programming for campus tours, campus and virtual events and other prospective and admitted student related engagement opportunities.
• Review program evaluation data to ensure a positive campus visit experience.

• Serve as a primary speaker during high profile recruitment and public relations events.
• Develop web and print content to promote the Visitors Center and campus engagement opportunities.
• Collaborate with AES partners to develop, maintain and expand new channels for prospective and admitted student to engage with UIC. Develop and maintain best practices to maximize prospective and admitted student engagement for diverse student audiences.
• Oversee the continued development of the UIC Admission Corps (Visitors Center student employees) to act as tour guides for campus and group visits, student panelists and provide office and event support.
• Plan, assign and review work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met. Hire, train, develop and manage staff to ensure that a qualified staff exists to meet group objectives.
• Train all recruitment staff, including counselors and student workers, on all functions related to the Visitors Center.
• Develop training programs for recruitment staff, and student workers, on presentation and other interpersonal communication strategies.
• Limited travel locally and nationally to represent UIC at recruitment and student yield events.
• Act as a primary point of contact for prospective students via telephone, email, and campus appointments as required.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned

A Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
Five years’ experience in admissions counseling or recruitment, student counseling, or university student programming.
Demonstrated professional experience supervising staff. Preferred Qualifications
Strong experiences in enrollment management and admissions recruitment. Presentation, verbal and written communication, management and leadership skills. Power Point Presentation development and creation experience is a plus. Excellent HR, space and resource management and supervisory skills.
Experience in program or event planning and execution.
Knowledge of university policies and procedures, FERPA regulations, application evaluation and admission review.
Membership in professional organizations such as Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling, the National Association for College Admissions Counseling or other professional organizations.
