Job Summary:

This position conducts research by assisting with the collection, entry and cleaning of data and descriptive results.

Job Responsibilities:

 

• Research

• Perform surveys, interviews, observations or uses other methods according to established research protocols. • Collect, process and analyze data. Summarize research and test results. • May assist with study protocol development. • Coordinate the ordering, inventory and maintenance of equipment, instruments and data collection and analysis tools.

Communication

• Prepare and contributes statistical data and pertinent information for papers, grants and other documents. • Complete required documentation for regulatory agencies.

The Ideal Candidate

Will utilizes acute drug administration studies and a multi-method approach (e.g., fMRI, EEG, behavior) to advance our understanding of the brain and behavioral risk factors for Substance use Disorders).   Perform lab experiments using neuroimaging and behavioral methods (e.g., fMRI, EEG, neuropsychological assessment, self-report). · Administer self-reports and monitor participant safety during acute drug administration visits. · Assist in participant recruitment (e.g., phone screens) and management of various databases. · Assist in study tasks (e.g., help with data entry, generating REDCap reports for data analysis). · Test, optimize, and implement both new and existing methods, procedures, and techniques. · Coordinate the ordering, inventory, and maintenance of study-related material and equipment. · Prepare and contribute to data analysis, as well as manuscript and grant preparation. · Complete regulatory documentation.

 Familiarity with clinical assessments (e.g., SCID), is preferred, but not a requirement. · Familiarity with EEG data collection and analysis is preferred, but not a requirement. · Analytical skills, the ability to resolve technical or research problems, the ability to critically check data to prevent errors. · Ability to work as part of a team (e.g., share duties with another research assistant when recruiting and running study participants; complete components of data analysis, slide presentations and manuscript preparations with the PI). · Knowledge and adherence of clinical research methods and design, and research protocols. · Ability to demonstrate professionalism in the workplace. · Careful attention to detail (required for data entry and processing of neuroimaging and behavioral data). · Excellent planning, organization, and prioritization skills, with the ability to independently monitor and complete a variety of complex tasks. · Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. · Will have excellent communication, organization, presentation and computer/pc sk.

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Job Knowledge & Skills, Education, Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required.

A minimum of one year related research experience. 

Knowledge of research concepts, practices and procedures.
