Senior Research Specialist

The University of Illinios Emergency Medicine Department is seeking a Senior Research Specialist.  Under the direction of the Director of Research, the incumbent will serve as the departmental researcher. 

Assist the Director of Research in developing, executing and managing research experiments and protocols. Work related to cardiac arrest, congestive heart failure, sickle cell disease, stroke, and neuro-endovascular research. Assist in developing and executing CME-related activities that will highlight this ongoing work. Will assist in writing and developing grant proposals.

Collaborate with researchers to design, develop and help deliver research projects.

Evaluate current methods, procedures and new techniques to develop advanced experimental protocols. Perform literature search and determine relevant literature to apply to protocols. 

Identify sources of grant funding and contribute to the development of grant proposals for project funding.

Conduct data collection, design, and analysis of data. Compose research findings for grants and publications and present results in oral or manuscript format

Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required. Master’s degree in social science preferred.

A minimum of 5 years related research experience.

Possesses and applies advanced knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.
