The University of Illinois at Chicago invites applicants for a joint position at the rank of assistant professor in the departments of chemistry and biological sciences beginning August 2020. We seek applicants with a strong research record and interest in integrating chemistry and neuroscience research. Preference will be given to candidates who have strong background in developing cutting-edge physical, analytical and chemical biology methods and tools for neuroscience. Candidates must hold a doctorate in chemistry, biology or a closely related field. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a full and active program of innovative research and contribute to teaching graduate and undergraduate students in chemistry and biological sciences.

 

Conduct a full and active program of rigorous and innovative research in chemistry and biological sciences.  Contribute to teaching graduate and undergraduate students in chemistry and biological sciences.  Guide students in research.  Provide service to the university.

Ph.D. in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field.
