RN Duties

 

  1. Responsible for assisting the department director in ongoing evaluation of best practice, staff competencies, and implementation of best practice measures to ensure deliver of quality patient care.
  2. Acts as a professional leadership role model.
  3. Ability to work flexible shifts and days when required.
  4. Promotes and supports Shared Leadership as the selected method of nursing governance.
  5. Actively participates in organizational communication processes through timely review and response to electronic and written messages.
  6. Demonstrates competency of all departmental IS applications.
  7. Establishment of regular communication processes with physicians, nurses and management to review current status, variances, resolutions, and programs as needed.
  8. Participates in the process improvement of nursing systems.
  9. Participates in developing and implementing quality indicators
  10. Provides analysis and interpretation of data
  11. Collaborates with hospital leadership in the management of housewide patient flow and capacity.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
 
  1. Current RN licensure in the state of Illinois
  2. Master’s Degree preferred in Nursing, Hospital Administration, Public Heatlh, or Business.
  3. Bachelor’s degree required. 
  4. Minimum of five years clinical experience required. preferably in an academic health care setting.
  5. Minimum of three years experience in nursing leadership/management required.
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to lead and manage change.
  7. Excellent attendance, interpersonal skills and work history required.
