Four (4) Positions Available

The University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System is seeking to fill four vacancies within the storekeeper I classification. The positions will support the Medical Center by working under the Storekeeper II and Supply Distribution Manager's indirect supervision to receive, record, maintain and issue supplies, linen and equipment items in the Distribution Services storeroom and the Operating Room. The available shifts for this positions are (2)Wednesday- Sunday 07:00 am 03:30 pm, (2)Wednesday-Sunday 03:00 pm 11:30 pm with rotating weekends and holidays.

•Receives, stores, issues, loads, and unloads equipment, and supply items when required.

•Checks incoming orders against items listed on requisitions, invoices, or other forms.

•Enters receiving information into Pathways Materials Management (PMM) system prior to distribution.

•Utilizes PMM system to obtain supply inquire, unit of measure, and pricing information.

•Issues requisitioned supply items by checking requested items against levels on hand.

•Refers situations that involve deviations from established procedures to the Storekeeper II.

•Replenishes supply cabinets/par level carts and linen daily for patient care areas.

•Stores supplies in bins, on pallets, or shelves and cycles count items, as assigned.

•Rotates specified stock according to receipt date.

•Checks supplies for expiration and/or damage.

•Labels supply items with identifying codes, etc. and keeps records of issuance of supply items.

•Orders supplies to maintain inventory par levels using PMM replenishment requisition.

•Demonstrates resourcefulness in applying established methods to handle supply items.

•Assists in interfacing Omnicell and PMM.

•Performs Distribution Services related duties and responsibilities, ensuring the section meets it's 24 hours, seven days a week responsibility to the Medical Center.

•Participates in periodic cycle counts, and other inventories of supply items stored in the area.

•Participates in staff meetings and required in-services.

•Assists in setting up, and or operating equipment for meeting, in-services, etc.

2. Judgment and decision making: considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one

3. The ability to effectively convey information to others, both verbally and in writing

4. Customer service: knowledge of the principles and processing for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

5. The ability to perform general physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials

6. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs

7. Exposure to temperature extremes
