Provides clinical and administrative leadership to various members of the transplant clinical team.

Interviews, hires, orients, evaluates, and guides staff to meet departmental and patient needs. Ensures staff meet hospital objectives. Verifies personnel credentials and qualifications to ensure that staff members are adequately and appropriately licensed, credentialed, qualified and trained.

Responsible for the clinical operations and quality of care provided by the transplant staff. Responsible for overseeing the full continuum of care encompassing the pre, peri and post-transplant episodes of care. Enhances the value of all transplant services by increasing the quality, constructing efficient care delivery models, and improving patient satisfaction.

Achieves and sustains the highest quality outcomes for our patients and center of excellence designations.

Ensures ongoing compliance with all regulatory and accreditation agencies related to organ transplantation including but not limited to CMS, UNOS, state and federal legislature.

In collaboration with the transplant physician leadership, establishes and implements the strategic vision and care plans for each of the transplant programs (kidney, liver, pancreas, bowel etc.). Develops the resources needed to support the execution of growth, QAPI and business strategies.

Participates in local, regional, and national transplant associations to provide benchmarked performance improvement opportunities and the adoption of leading practice.

Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Three (3) years of related relevant nursing experience required.

RN License required.

Master’s Degree preferred in Nursing, Hospital Administration, Public health or Business

ANCC Certification preferred

Current BLS / ACLS and other required program specific certification

Effective communication skills (oral and written) that facilitate therapeutic relationships between patients, families and health care providers

Previous transplant or organ specific experience preferred

Previous management experience preferred
