The University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UI Health) is seeking to fill the position of IT Technical Associate for the Outreach Labortory/Pathology Services Department.  The IT Technical Associate position will fill a number of roles as well as being a dedicated EPIC source.    The IT Technical Associate would possess Electronic Health Record (EHR) knowledge to lead outreach during the EPIC EHR transition. Assist sales and operations by converting manual client reports to automatic electronic formats and participate on interface calls with clients, vendors and 4medica. Handle printer issues with customers, serve as the “go to” person for Outreach client requests and field calls from outside vendors.

  •  Assist with Client Interface calls
  • EPIC Transition
  •  Handle Outreach interface issues with clients, vendors and 4medica
  •  Be present at accounts when interfaces and bridges go live
  •  Go on sales calls with sales reps to talk connectivity.
  •  Service printers and test them
  •  Go to person when vendors need to speak with IT person
  •  Provide interface result and test order codes for EMR vendors and clients (pre and post interface process)
  •  Handle testing interfaces before they go live
  • Requests for transmitting emails with PHI info using other companies’ encryption programs. (i.e. DHS request)

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

  1. Any combination totaling two (2) years from the following categories:
  • progressively more responsible work experience in an Information Technology (IT) related profession

       B. college course work which included Information Technology (IT), IT Management, or a closely related discipline, as                  measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

  • 60 semester hours or Associate's Degree equals one (1) year
  • 90-120 semester hours or Bachelor's Degree equals two (2) years

      This position requires Illinois residency within 180 days of the hire date.
